WHO There are no signs that the change of seasons affects the coronavirus!
The World Health Organization said Wednesday that there is little evidence to suggest that seasonal change will affect the spread of coronavirus.
"We can't rely on expectations that season or temperature will be the answer," said Mike Ryan, the head of the WHO's emergency program.
"Right now, we have no data to suggest that coronavirus will behave more aggressively or not when the season changes," he said.
In the early stages of coronavirus pandemic, some have said that hot weather can slow its spread.
But that idea faded as coronavirus continued to spread in the northern hemisphere during the spring.
Coronavirus has affected over 7.2 million people worldwide. Of these, over 3.4 million have recovered and over 413,000 have died.
