Abedi, a student at the University of Salford. He was born in Manchester in 1994, the 22-year-old bomber was known to the security services and had "proven" links with ISIS. He is believed to have returned from Libya just days before the terror atrocity, having previously spent time in war-torn Syria. Abedi is the second youngest of four children. He is said to be both a Manchester United fan and a keen cricketer. According to neighbours, Abedi’s behaviour had become increasingly strange ahead of the suicide bombing. Abedi reportedly lived at an address in Elsmore Road, Fallowfield, which police raided yesterday, ordering shocked residents indoors as they carried out a controlled explosion. Detectives, accompanied by bomb disposal soldiers, raided properties in Fallowfield and Whalley Range and made an arrest. A childhood friend of Ismail described Salman as "normal". There was, he said, nothing to suggest he was violent. "He was always friendly."
