WHO has advised governments to encourage citizens to wear masks in public, in order to prevent the spread of covid-19 virus. The WHO has stated in the past that there is insufficient data to support the use of masks by healthy people in public places and that only those who are ill should be provided with them. "We have data now that if this is done properly, it could curb potentially contagious sprays," doctor Maria van Kerkhove told the Reuters news agency. "And we are specifying the fabricated mask, which is not for medical use." In the new guidelines, which have been pushed forward by recent studies, the WHO has emphasized that the use of masks is just one of the things that can be used to reduce the risk of transmitting the virus, although they should not create ideas of false to people.
