This Aug. 21 is happening a major event in USA, thats been dubbed the Great American Eclipse!

America will fall under the path of a total solar eclipse. Today total solar eclipse is unique in that it will be visible all across the U.S. This is the First Total Solar Eclipse in USA. Since 1979 pletely blot out the sun in parts of 14 different states at different times throughout the day. The path of totality for the Aug. 21, 2017, total solar eclipse is about 70 miles wide and stretches from Oregon to South Carolina. It passes through Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. All times are local. The total solar eclipse, it will last two minutes and 40 seconds at most. The maximum point of the eclipse will take place near Hopkinsville, Kentucky at 18:20 UTC, which is 1:20 pm local time. During totality, when the sun's disk is completely covered by the moon, it is safe to view the eclipse with the naked eye. But skywatchers should NEVER look at a partial solar eclipse without proper eye protection. Looking directly at the sun, even when it is partially covered by the moon, can cause serious eye damage or blindness.
