The technical Ministers of the DP today resigned from Rama government.

Three months after the “Rama-Basha agreement”, the technical Ministers of the Democratic Party resigned from Rama government. All the technical ministers resigned on Wednesday. They leave their duty to the vice ministers. The technocrat ministers appointed by the opposition, became part of the government thanks to the agreement reached between leader of opposition, Lulzim Basha and leader of majority, Edi Rama, to monitor the behavior of public administration in the June 25 parliamentary elections. The technical deputy PM Ledina Mandia, Minister of Interior, Dritan Demiraj, Minister of Health, Arben Beqiri, Minister of Social Welfare, Xhulieta Ketusha, Minister of Finance, Helga Vukaj, Minister of Education Mirela Karabina and Minister of Justice, Gazmend Bardhi, became part of the left wing Albanian government a few months ago. They had to guarantee high standards of these elections. But the Democratic Party says that the objective was not achieved, because, according to their leader Basha, Rama had bought the elections before the agreement was achieved. However, the technical Ministers stayed in power two months after the elections to draft the report. During this period, these ministers have been drafting a report on the elections and after that, they have prepared their resignation from the left wing government. Their resignations, officially have submitted to PM Edi Rama. After election proces on 03-07-2017, Rama have declarated: “The new governing team will be ready in the month of September”. According to him, these ministers will continued to remain in office until the new government is constituted in the month of September. “I’d like to reconfirm the fact the 18 May agreement with the DP will continue to drive relations between government and opposition”,had declared Rama. But with this act the technocrats threw down all the rumors for a co-governance between the socialists and the democrats. Socialist Party won the elections and with more than 71 mandates it can govern alone.
