Provide vaccines in the Western Balkans as soon as possible
European Commissioner for Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi wrote in a Twitter post that the EU stands by its partners in the Western Balkans in the fight against coronavirus.
He writes that there is an essential need for the rapid provision of vaccines in this region.
"In the European Council today, representing the European Commission. In the fight against COVID19, the EU stands by its partners in the Western Balkans and the region. I stress the need to ensure rapid access to vaccines in the Western Balkans. I also underline concerns about developments in the Navalny case," Varhelyi wrote.
Earlier, Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi reacted to criticism from Western Balkan countries for the EU's approach to the issue of vaccines for the region. He announced that the union has launched moves to provide anti-COVID vaccines to Balkan countries.
Prime Minister Rama has harshly criticized the way the EU did not show solidarity with Balkan countries on the issue of vaccination. He has considered this decision as absurd, morally unacceptable, politically incomprehensible, unjustifiable and logically.
