Ismail Kadare nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature

The Academy of Sciences of Albania, through a press release on the official website, has announced that on January 28, in honor of the 85th anniversary of the writer Ismail Kadare, the scientific activity on the topic "Ismail Kadare, writer Albanian in world literature ”will be held in the "Academics" hall . The announcement also states that in the same event Kadare will be re-nominated by the Academy of Sciences for the Nobel Prize in Literature. In this activity, the opening speech will be given by the President of the Academy of Sciences, Skënder Gjinushi. Then will be followed by the lecture on "Kadare in European world literature", which will be held by the director of the National Library in Tirana, Mr. Pirro Misha, and further the statement of the researcher of Albanian literature, prof. Bashkim Kuçuku, with the topic “Kadare in world criticism, an encyclopedic presentation of the internationalization of the work of the Albanian writer; presentation of the first two volumes "Kadare in French Criticism". The announcement of the re-nomination of the writer Ismail Kadare for the Nobel Prize in Literature will be given by the President of the Academy of Sciences, Skënder Gjinushi, and then a photo exhibition will be opened with photos and evidence related to key moments in the life of the writer Ismail Kadare, prepared by Roland Tasho.
