From Friday, Kosovo will have its new government. Kosovo Serbs vote KLA.
Kadri Veseli reelected the Speaker of Kosovo Parliament. He was elected by a narrow margin by a vote of 62-52. Three months after June 11th elections and after six failed attempts, today the constitutive session of the Kosovo Parliament finally has its speaker.
His election comes after the Behgjet Pacolli decided to abandon his pre-electoral coalition and join the winning coalition led by Ramush Haradinaj. Veseli of the PDK, Ramush Haradinaj
"Srpska," said that the decision for support of the Kosovo government with Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj should be taken after consultations with the official Belgrade.
"Regarding the vote for the [Haradinaj-led] government, we will decide following consultations with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and the Director for Kosovo and Metohija in the Serbian government, Marko Djuric," Srpska MP MP Igor Simic said.
List Srpska agreed with PAN on a third ministerial post, the Agriculture Ministry, which had been allocated to the AKR, led by Pacolli. The ethnic Serb's party will also hold the local government and returnee ministries.
Pacolli's party has four ministries.
As the largest partner in the Democratic Party of Kosovo, PDK, will be the post of Deputy Prime Minister plus six ministries.
Haradinaj's Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, AAK, will have the Prime Minister's post plus three other ministries.
The junior partner in the coalition, Limaj's NISMA, will have the post of Deputy Prime Minister and three other ministries.
Thursday's vote ended with a long-lasting constitutive session of parliament, which started on August 3.
Haradinaj and Veseli, at a joint press conference, have announced that starting from Friday, Kosovo will have its new government.
Immediately Kosovo President Hashim Thaci made an announcement on social networks a few hours after the Parliament voted Kadri Veseli as new Speaker.
He has accepted the proposition for authorizing Ramush Haradinaj as Prime Minister of Kosovo.
“Based on my constitutional competences and through a presidential decree, I have appointed Mr. Ramush Haradinaj for creating the new government of the Republic of Kosovo, proposed by the majorityâ€, Thaci said.
Kosovo is a country of 1.8 million people, 90 percent of whom are ethnic Albanian. Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008.
