Chelsea have denied claims the club is up for sale.


The russian billionaire Abramovich was denied a new visa to enter the UK back in May, so the started the rumours that the russian owner is actively looking for a buyer, but him rejected an offer from Sir Jim Ratcliffe to buy Chelsea over the summer. It was reported that Britain’s richest man, Ratcliffe, had failed with a £2billion bid for Chelsea. So it looks like Abramovich is still committed despite not being able to visit Stamford Bridge. However, The Sunday Times Business section report that Abramovich is willing to sell the club and is simply holding out for a bigger offer. A report in the Sunday Times also states Abramovich rejected and an other offer for a minority stake in the club from Silver Lake Partners, an American private equity firm.The newspaper also has reported that club directors acting for the have brought in advisers from merchant bank Raine Group as part of a strategic review.They claim Abramovich has seek interest from investors in China, the US and Middle East. Abramovich bought Chelsea in 2003, since when the club have enjoyed the most success in their history, with five Premier League titles, five FA Cups and the 2012 Champions League.
