The Albanian Institute of Geosciences and Civil Emergencies report on the risk of earthquakes.

According to him “The massive wildfires that engulfed the entire territory during these summer days may be followed by a series of earthquakesâ€.
According to him “We have to be careful due to the expected situations if we calculate the earthquakes of 1967 (The most powerful earthquake that has fallen in the modern era in Albania) and a period of return once in 50 years, there is a high risk of earthquakes in Elbasan, Tirana, Debar, Shkodra, Korca, etc. We must be prepared because normally there is a risk of earthquakes in 2017 and early 2018, as predicted by Geo-science,†said Premci.
At the meeting with the Civil Emergencies in the Tirana Prefecture Prenci said that it is time to take measures for the difficult days. The first land tremors have already started in the Elbasan region have started, mainly in Qukës.
Municipalities have to start work on cleaning up collectors and canals, because is expected to have intensive rains in autumn.
