Acrolis is one of the archaeological sites that has not fully revealed its precious secret to us. The excavations in this territory have resulted in the discovery of cultural layers before the ninth century B.C by making this prehistoric site one of the ancient ones in Albania. The restorer of monuments Ded Margjoni says that Acrolis is the first center of the fortified settlement of Lissus. It can be called the first Lissus. A tribe federation has lived here, which dealt with farming. Margjoni says that the three towers are impressing and extraordinary, also a part of the fortifying wall of this settlement subject to abuse for years and no longer there. Due to the specific values of archaeological and historical Acrolis, it was declared a cultural monument of first category since 17 March 1948, but that did not stop at all the government officials and businessmen of post-dictatorship period to sell, buy, undo, steal, hide and desecrate Acrolis.
