2 Weeks Itinerary in Albania - Our favorite Itinerary


Looking to spend 2 weeks in Albania but also have no idea what places to visit? This Albanian Itinerary will take you through some of the most picturesque and historical cities. So, if you are a first-time visitor, here’s our suggested itinerary for 2 weeks in Albania. Getting to Albania is really easy and can be done by pretty much every method of transportation like plane, bus, and boat. Big chances are you will be flying into Albania. The only airport, for now, is only some km away from the capital of Albania, Tirana, which is where we’re going to start this itinerary. 2 Days in Tirana Because it’s the capital, and because you need some time to rest after your flight we recommend staying for at least 2 days in Tirana. Being the capital it offers a lot of possibilities to enjoy the best time and to gather the best moments and memories from this city. There are a lot of tourist attractions which you can find them here. We recommend you save some time and go for a walk at Tirana Artificial Lake, it’s a place you shouldn’t miss because it offers some great views and we are pretty sure you will be amazed by this place. If you don’t know where to stay here are some of the best and most affordable hotels in Tirana and if you want to know some good restaurants to eat healthy and delicious food here is a list with the best restaurants in Tirana. 3 Days in North Albania (1-day Shkoder, 2 days Theth- Valbone ) From Tirana, you can take a taxi or a bus to Shkodra, it's one of those cities that you definitely have to see in Albania because it has so much history and culture. Here you can walk around the city with a bicycle and you will notice that there are no traffic lights, it’s because people here use more bicycles than cars. A must-see place is Rozafa Castle, an interesting castle with so much history. Here you can see a photo diary of Shkodra so you can have an idea of what you will find there. After you have explored this majestic city you shouldn’t miss the most beautiful Albanian Alps. Hiking on them will make you feel like you are on another planet. Your eyes will be amazed by the breathtaking view that leads you to the land of fairy tales, Theth the stunning village where you will some of the best guesthouses to take some rest and to relax. If you have some time you surely don’t want to miss the blue eye of Theth. Then you will continue the hike to Valbona village. To get back to Shkodra we recommend Komani Lake Ferry Ride, it's an amazing and relaxing ride. 2 Days Pogradec and Korce After you have spent days in Shkodra you can go to explore Pogradec and Korca. There are so many beautiful places to see here but of course, you have to see Drilon Park in Pogradec. It’s a quiet and beautiful place. You can’t left Pogradec without trying the Grilled Koran, a fresh fish from Lake Ohrid. Korca is only some miles away from Pogradec and is a city that has so much tradition. There are so many tourist attractions for which you can read here. 1 Day in Berat We can’t let out of this Itinerary one of the UNESCO-s site, Berat, the city of a thousand windows, it is a must-visit place and you will understand what we are talking about after having a look at these photos of this amazing place. 1 Day in Gjirokaster It is always good to learn more about the culture of the place you are spending your vacations that’s why it is a good idea to spend a day in Gjirokaster, the stone city of the Balkans.
